Access allows any authorised users to access the company
network. This could be by analogue dial up modems, ISDN,
router or a VPN through the Internet.
This might be used to pick up or synchronise e-mail for
the sales team or to synchronise a contact management
package as well as access or copy files on the central
file server.
This can also include accessing the company's
accounting / financial or business system using Citrix or
PC Anywhere.
We ourselves use remote access to our customer's sites
to give a speedy response and fix to support calls. Remote
Access is a standard service included with Novell NetWare
and Windows NT/2000 Server. .  |
